This will anger many people. This will cause shouts of outrage from others. I frankly, don’t care. I don’t care because if people don’t start standing up against injustice, then we will all be hurt by this.
I’m talking about attacks against white people, men in particular.
No, I am not a white supremacist, and no I don’t hate anyone. I believe in equality and fair treatment for all. Man or Woman of any race.
While I recognize that this is not true in many places in the world, in Canada, I believe we have come close to those ideals, but we are definitely not there yet.
In Canada we have adopted cultures and ideas from many parts of the world and made it ours, and part of our cultural identities. This is a good thing.
In doing so we have become diverse and accepting of many people and accept many traditions without question.
There is a drawback. We have also accepted hatred. Hatred against white males. If your a white male in this country you are attacked in the media constantly. According to the feminists, we are the cause of all their problems including the non existent wage differences based on sex. To them, if a male makes more money than them in the same field then it is sexism or gender discrimination. There is no talk about the skill levels or negotiation ability of individuals. Going to university for a particular job, applying and not getting paid the same amount as someone who has ten years experience in the position is enough to argue that the woman is being discriminated against based on their gender.
While many companies have wage ranges, you can negotiate your wage within that range, using your skills to determine your wage. This is how many companies do this. They do not, do this based on your gender. If that was true then women in HR departments around the country would be screaming about the companies that do. No, talk about how some don’t negotiate their wage or are bad at negotiation of said wage.
The same can be said about race. If you have the skills for the job then you are generally considered for the position you are applying for. Your skin tone is not a disadvantage in Canada.
In fact, if your of a race other than Caucasian, or are a woman, then you have an advantage in the marketplace. There are laws in the place, that have been around for decades that require employers to hire people based on skill and they will get tax breaks if they hire people that the government considers minorities or women. Bonus, if your a minority, and a women and have a handicap.
The government has loan and grant programs that they give to minorities and women every year. Not to white men.
Years ago, I tried to start my own coffee company. I had a solid business plan and all my planning was solid and everyone (suppliers, site location, contractors etc) were all set and ready for me to secure finances to start the business and get things going. I was poor however, working minimum wage jobs and trying to secure a bank loan was impossible. Turning to the government grants and loans I searched and searched, but couldn’t find any way to get a grant or loan because I didn’t meet any of their criteria except one. Being gay. That would have allowed me to secure a grant to start my own non profit organization that was solely for the purpose of the gay community. This was out, because a coffee shop is for profit and was for everyone, not just gay people.
In other words, I had no advantage being a white male. If I had been a woman, or someone of another race, or even handicapped, I would have been given the money no questions.
Here it is the year 2015 and I am still hearing people attacking and blaming white men for all their problems in life. The new thing is a bill board that was highlighting a problem that has been around for centuries but is never addressed. Domestic violence against men and the fact there are no shelters to help men who are victims of domestic violence.
The outrage from the feminists could be heard around the globe. Shouting their indignation that a man would have the audacity of claiming being a victim of domestic violence or abuse.
The bald fact is, it happens. Just as much as it happens to women. It isn’t a gender specific problem as the women would have you believe. There are many many many, women who think it’s alright to degrade, or humiliate the man in their lives, even abuse them physically. It happens in all types of relationships. Gay, Straight, Lesbian, Transgender. All of them. Having a penis doesn’t exempt you from being victimized.
Men are raped as much as women are. We men are quiet about it, because we are ridiculed and shamed by society and by women in general. After all, men are supposed to be strong and able to defend themselves and protect their loved ones.
Another thing that still happens is other races blaming their problems on something that happened to their ancestors. As if your great great great grandfather being a slave to a white man, is the cause of you not going to university today. This really has no bearing in reality, but if you question it, then your automatically dubbed a racist.
In reality, things are better now for everyone except white men. We are still attacked, abused and accused of being racist simply for the color of our skin.
So think on this. If your attacking someone based on their skin tone or gender, then who is really the racist or sexist ? It isn’t me. I live my life, treating others equally, based on their actions and not their skin tone or gender.
If your a woman, so what? If can do something I need done, then your hired. If your, a different race, so what? If you have the skills I need to get the job done, then your hired.
If you don’t get the job, then chances are you are missing a skill that is required. If your not being paid the same as the guy who has been at the job for twenty years, then chances are it is because you haven’t been with the company to earn those raises to get to those pay levels.
So to all the feminists and race warriors who think all the white men are evil. Go look in the mirror. Chances are the person in the mirror is the racist or biased against gender. Not me.
