Abortion – “My body My Right!” Why this argument fails to logic and reason.

o-ABORTION-facebook.jpg

Abortion.  Such a touchy subject and one that many women will scream about.   In fact with the current american election looming, the subject has come up due to Hilary’s opinion that the unborn have no rights in law until they are born.   Which means, in her eyes, that a child can be ripped apart via abortion right up until the time labor starts.

This has caused a debate on abortion to renew again.  I’ve seen this debate happen numerous times over  the past forty years.   However, now with age comes wisdom and understanding.

The understanding that “my body my right” is false.     I will list my reasons why.

Let’s begin with conception.    Life starts there.   The mother’s egg is dormant until the father’s sperm penetrates the egg and gives it the spark of life and energy it needs to start cell reproduction.

One of the arguments from women is that they give life or create life.   Technically this is incorrect.   At best you can call a woman an incubator.   They carry and gestate that child in their body but the “spark” that created that life, came from the father.

The cells reproduce and form a child.   During that process there are many stages.    Many argue that there is no “life” until there is a heartbeat or a brain etc.    This really is a strawman argument.  Since as I stated the spark started at inception.

Now, with that being said many argue that the fetus can be aborted right until week 31-35.  In Canada, this is 24 weeks.  This is what a fetus looks like at that time.

fetus24weeks

Now I don’t know about you, but this does not look like a bunch of cells that get scraped off the uterus wall.     Yet, the abortions can and do happen this late.

So the argument of “My Body, My Right” is false.  It disregards the life of the child as nothing.   So I can understand how some could see it as murder.

If anyone has watched the Videos from the investigation into Planned Parenthood, you would have seen the horrors that they present.   Selling the aborted baby parts for profit.   The staff separating brain, legs, arms as if they were never human life.

Then we have father’s rights.   Or rather, the lack of reproductive rights.    Many of the people who argue for abortion always mention that “If the father didn’t want a child, they shouldn’t have had sex”.     This argument is without any kind of reason, coherent thought or logic.    The reason being is, the same logic can be applied to the women.   “If she didn’t want a child she shouldn’t have had sex”.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  I’m not against abortion completely.   I firmly believe there should be allowances in law for it.  Such as cases of women or girls getting pregnant from rape, or incest.   Or in medical needs, such as her life is in danger from the pregnancy.   Those to me seem to be reasonable.

We have had over 50 years in Canada of proper sex education, women have access to more than twenty kind of contraceptive options.   Everyone, and I mean everyone knows the pill is not 100 percent and yet we still have unwanted pregnancies.

So maybe it’s time ladies to stop blaming men for your pregnancy?   Men have 3 options to them.  A condom, Abstinence or a vasectomy.    The power, the choices and the rights are all yours.   So if you get pregnant and it is unwanted, then to me, it is your fault. At least, ninety percent on you.

As, I have written, men do not have rights when it comes to being a father or not.   You scoff and will rant, but it is true.

Men have zero choice in becoming a father.   Once the sperm, penetrates the egg and cell division starts then women have all the power and the choice in society.    If a woman gets pregnant here are her choices.

1.  She can choose to abort.  2.  She can choose to keep the child.  3. She can choose to give the child up for adoption.  4. She can choose to not name the child’s father on the birth certificate.   5. She can choose to force the father to pay child support.  6.  She can choose to let the father give up his so called “parental rights as father”.   7.  She can choose to deny the father any visits to the child.

All the choices are hers.     This is why,  I think the laws  in this country concerning abortion need to take a more balanced approach to, well, every aspect.

We need to have this discussion as a nation.   People need to be honest and less selfish about it and that will start with you ladies, cause we men, don’t have the rights.

Gender Fluid theory is Garbage.

GF

To many people, they believe that gender fluid means that you can change your gender, like you can change your underwear.  The reality (truth) is that you can’t.    Gender is the description word we use to describe the sex of a person via pronouns.   “He” is the gender pronoun for a male.  “She” is the gender pronoun for a female.

The gender fluid idea not only dictates that you change your gender like you change your underwear, but that there must be a new gender pronouns created to describe these people.

Gender neutral pronouns have been created so people won’t offend their special snowflake friends.

Here is an example of made up, and in some cases unpronounceable pronouns:

Gender Pronouns.png

More of the garbage can be found here: http://uwm.edu/lgbtrc/support/gender-pronouns/

The problem with all this is simply the fact that people actually think, that changing your gender is the simply act of a way of thought or clothing.     The act of putting on a dress for a guy or bandaging up the breasts for a woman and putting on the opposite gender’s clothing means that they are the opposite sex.    It is not.   This is typically known as cross-dressing.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cross%E2%80%93dressing

I’ve heard the idea from the idiots who believe this nonsense that gender is based on your personality, and not your anatomy.    This is also untrue, since your anatomy dictates if your male or female.  Hence, why people say “Penis = Male” and “Vagina = Female”.

There are mentally ill people who think they are puppy dogs to and want to live out their lives as dogs or even other animals or even mythical creatures.

https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2016/may/25/secret-life-of-the-human-pups-the-men-who-live-as-dogs

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3524063/Transgender-woman-Eva-Tiamat-Medusa-ears-nose-removed-dragon-lady.html

That brings me to trans-gendered people.   These people fall into the same category as the above.

These people suffer from a mental illness called “Gender Dysphoria”

These are people who are unhappy with their biological sex and believe they are the opposite sex.   That somehow, the doctor when they were born, didn’t recognize the proper gender and “assigned” them the wrong one.

Decades ago this was treated, successfully I might add, as a mental illness.  The treatment used to entail regular visits to a psychiatrist and medication.   It was believed that people who suffered from this illness had a chemical imbalance.    Then came the gay rights movement and feminism.      They cited that it was NOT a mental illness that gender is a social construct.    They convinced enough people, to re-examine the idea of the treatments, saying they are more harmful than helpful because it ignores the person’s feelings.     Remember folks, feeling over fact and science is precedence with these people.

Then doctors created the mutilation surgeries that are still to this day, really bad.  They allow people to voluntarily mutilate their bodies via cosmetic surgery in an effort to look like the opposite sex, while not being able to be biologically the opposite sex.

Let me explain.

You cannot change your DNA.   You cannot change your muscle structure.  You cannot change your skeletal structure.      So your body regardless of the surgery will still show up as your sex that you were born as.       This makes all those transgender surgeries under the category of cosmetic.

The worse part of it is that they are chopping off working body parts, and sewing on body parts that do not work as intended.   For example, a male undergoing a male to female surgery, will not have a working uterus, and no eggs.    So after the surgery she cannot bear children.    A female to male is worse.   In many cases the female decides to KEEP her uterus and have a penis sewn on.  Only the penis cannot produce sperm and needs a rod or a pump installed to inflate it to be able to have sex.   So technically it doesn’t work as functioning male either.   In many of the cases of the women who go through those surgeries and keep their uterus, they decide at some point to have a baby.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2416088/Transgender-German-man-Europe-baby-boy-following-home-birth.html

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=5302756&page=1

Transgender means that you are transitioning from one gender to another.  It doesn’t mean you can stay in that middle state and call yourself a man if you have a uterus.
Then the argument comes in that “Oh but the surgeries are expensive”.    Yes, well cosmetic surgeries usually are, because they do not add any value to health.  And are why they call them cosmetic.

And these people still are not happy after they go through with the surgeries.   In fact many regret doing it.  So much that they commit suicide in the same high numbers as they do before the surgeries.

http://www.sexchangeregret.com/

When you fight your own biology, you will lose.  You can’t change your gender.  It is scientifically an impossibility.    Feminist theory professors have an agenda.  Indoctrination into the cult of feminism.  They need to convince young minds that their theories are facts and due to the borg collective mentally of feminism,  many just believe this without question.

Don’t fall for the idea that Gender is fluid on anyone’s say so.  Challenge it.  Question it.   Dissect it.

Vaccines, kill you later!

vaccination-shots

I’m so over the vaccine debate that to me it’s a done deal.  I’m against it.   Yet, daily I see posts from people who are for it and who are against it.    The reasons from the pro side just don’t add up, nor do they make any sense.

The latest diatribe I heard from the pro vaccine side is trying to discount the inserts as something not to worry about, or that people don’t understand how to read them properly etc.

No friends, the inserts are very clear.

Here is the MMR2 Insert in PDF.

http://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars/m/mmr_ii/mmr_ii_pi.pdf

Notice the six pages, (yes six) of adverse reactions, which include but are not limited to death and other various lifelong medical problems.

Notice the part where it says it is NOT 100% effective 100% of the time?    This means it doesn’t work.

Yet people still advocate for this poison and discount these warnings as nothing to be worried about, and at the same time make comments like “There is only a 15% chance of getting an adverse reaction, that means it’s still 85% safe”.    (They obviously didn’t read the NOT 100% safe part.)

Another nail in the coffin I found just today, was a paper that cites a 120 years worth of history of diseases and vaccines and their effects written by a doctor.

Here it is:

http://vaccinationcouncil.org/2012/04/02/smallpox-declared-eradicated-while-still-alive-and-well-by-viera-scheibner-phd/

Now I read this and now know that there are many doctors and medical professionals who know this information.  They know it is harmful.  And in fact they discuss how the vaccinated population are at risk of death if even small pox breaks out.   Not the  people who decided not to vaccinate.  They discuss it clearly and explain why this is.

This is something I’ve known for years, but yet people have seem to have just forgotten.     Our immune systems are made so we can get sick and develop natural antibodies.     The vaccines don’t do this.     They never did.

Silly people cite that these diseases were wiped out by vaccines, but the truth is they weren’t.   They disappeared due to better hygiene, better sanitation and better food preparation.    Diseases come and go as well throughout history.  Some diseases have even been found in arctic ice samples.   (Think of the arctic ice melting now, scary huh).  The common denominator in diseases in hygiene, sanitation and food safety.   Your less likely to get sick if all three of those conditions are good.  Not any vaccine.

When these vaccines were introduced, the diseases were almost gone, not by any drugs but by better standards of living.

Now we have occasional outbreaks of measles, mumps etc.   And they have always been traced back to vaccinated people.  Always.    The media doesn’t report that very loudly though.  They don’t want to loose all that advertising revenue from the drug companies, but that still doesn’t change the fact that vaccinated people are more at risk from a disease than those that have not been vaccinated.

Our bodies get a disease by breathing in or eating some microbe or virus via mouth, nose or stomach.   It has to then get to our blood stream but it first gets analyzed  by our immune system and antibodies keyed to our body are created and when the virus hits our bloodstream, our immune response already has started to respond and attack it.   Then when the virus has been eradicated from our body the specific antibody’s dna or structure is stored in our dna so when or if we get infected again, our body can easily and quickly create new antibodies to attack the virus.

A vaccine does not do this.    The vaccine is injected into us bypassing the normal natural ways we contract a disease.   As well, depending on the vaccine, some vaccines have dead virus’ in them.   So the antibodies that are created from that dead virus have certain problems.    The first being that the antibodies are being created to combat something that is already dead.  The other issue the antibodies in the virus are not keyed to your body.  They weren’t created by your body so when they are cloned by your body they really aren’t beneficial to your body.    Imagine a clone of someone else.   Then cloning that clone a few million times, and then take an organ from the final clone like the liver and transplanting it in you.   The chances the organ won’t do anything are pretty high and most likely your health will be compromised.

This is what a vaccine is. Or does.   It leaves you compromised health wise.      It offers a false sense of protection from disease.     Which is better a lifelong immunity or something that is temporary, can possibly harm you for life and even kill you if you get sick.

No thank you.   I’ll not vaccinate and keep my health thank you.

Truth about the Birth Registry System.

canada_birth

(Above:Sample Birth Registry Form)

Many people assume they have rights over the government when it comes to their children.  After all, you are the parents, the ones who love your children, gave birth or raise them.

What if I told you this is only a half truth?   What If I told you that you had no real rights to your child and the rules for raising them?

You would laugh and tell me I’m a moron right?   Don’t worry, I know.  I’ve been called many names over the years for my discovery of this tidbit of information.  Doesn’t make me wrong though.  So far there is no evidence to disprove me.

What you think of your “Parental Rights” is actually usage rights.  Usage rights, doesn’t really mean you have the right to use something as you see fit.   Or own something outright.  It means you can use the item, or in this case raise the child, within the confines of the rules of the government.

You scoff?   Think on this.  How does Children’s Aid societies across the country have so much power?   Why?    They can take your children without warrant or notice for the most trivial of reasons.   So how do they get this power?

This all has to do with law.  This is also why the abortion laws are the way they are.   Before I get into what makes it there.  I will explain a bit about old maritime law.

You see in the time of the big sail ships, that hauled cargo around the world there was certain agreed upon rules that every country followed with foreign cargo vessels.   These rules eventually became Maritime Law and were adopted procedures in law for other things, including registering a child’s birth.

Here is how the old maritime law works.

A ship laden with cargo in it’s hold would come to port of a nation.  The captain would register the cargo and the ship with the harbormaster.   The harbor master would take possession of the cargo into the harbor’s warehouses for safekeeping until the captain could find a buyer for the goods and sell it.  Until then it was kept in trust, and protection by the harbormaster.   So the captain did not have to worry about anyone else stealing that cargo or selling it behind his back.  It also ensured the good behavior of the captain and crew, because if they did anything wrong like break a local law they could confiscate that cargo and jail the crew or captain.

Now I’ll translate this into modern times.

A ship laden with cargo (Pregnant Mother), would come to port of a nation (Government Licensed Hospital), the captain (Father) would register the ship and it’s cargo (Mother is registered at hospital to give birth), The Harbormaster (Government Licensed Doctor), then removes cargo (Baby) from the ship (mother), and it is registered with the harbormaster (Government).  At this point the cargo (Baby) is under the control and protection (Ward) of the harbormaster (Government), until such time as the captain (Father) could find a buyer (Marriage) for the cargo (Baby).  Until that time, the cargo (Baby) remains in the care of the harbormaster (Ward of the state).   The captain (Father)has to follow the rules for trade (Rules for raising the child) within the land (in the country) and if they do something that goes against the local laws, the harbormaster (Government child protection services) then could confiscate the cargo (child) and jail the captain (father) and her crew if warranted.

Now this is 2015 and we live in a so called “Modern society” but this is still true, as it hasn’t changed in centuries.   This is also explains a few other things in our lives that most people don’t even think about.   This is also why the Queen is also known as the “Queen Mum” .  Not because she is old and has children of her own, but because technically according to the propaganda the Queen is the head of state of Canada and England and we are all her children via the registry system.

Why women are “Handed off” to a groom at a wedding.  The captain is selling his cargo and transferring ownership.   And also why fathers had a huge say in the past on who their daughter would marry.  It’s not the only reason by far but its a big one.   And why as well children are considered property or dependents until they reach the age of maturity.

England was the original country this practice was used on human beings and now to this day to the bankers influence on the world, almost everyone is registered.

This is also huge because as parents you don’t really have real rights to your property.  And yes the child is a human being, I understand this, but you created that child.  Your DNA, created it.  That means they had to find a way to trick you into giving up the rights to your property.  So the birth registry is the way.   This is also why in Canada you get a “Baby Bonus” cheque.   They tell you it is to help you pay for expenses for the child.  In reality that this a partial truth.  It is for the expenses of the child, but it is also payment for taking care of the ward of the state that you gave them.  They are paying you to take care of  the child you gave up ownership rights to.

If you hadn’t registered that child, it would be one hundred percent your child.  There have been a few rare cases where a parent did not register their child at birth and one case I read the mother had three children and one was not registered.  Children’s Aid society (child protective services) came and removed the children from the home because the mother didn’t comply with demands from the school for some legal reason.   The next day after the children had been removed, the police brought the one child who wasn’t registered back stating “This one isn’t ours, it’s yours”.   And left.

There are other cases where children are appearing at the age of 16 trying to obtain jobs and can’t because they don’t exist in the government’s eyes because they were never registered, and since people in this country think you have to hire only people with a SIN card, these people are unable to obtain work legally.

(Side note: Think of all the items you register in your life with the government.  The same applies to each one.  Your car, your boat, your home.   None of it is yours after.  It’s all theirs and they can make rules for it all because you got tricked into thinking you had to register your property with them).

Now when you realize  the above as truth, the rest of what happens makes sense.  The ability of the government to legally force you to send your child to their schools to strangers each day.   The ability of the government to decide what medical treatment options are available for children.  The rules for raising them, for feeding them, for housing them, for disciplining them, for nurturing them.

And why when one of these rules is perceived to be broken, Child Protection comes in and removes the child depending on which rule gets broken.

In some court rooms if a father makes a statement that he wants his property returned to him immediately, and has a judge that knows the history and background of the laws and understands them properly, will immediately recognize the father as the property owner and return the child to his custody.    I wouldn’t recommend trying it though, it is usually done in summary judgement otherwise known as Queen’s Bench, and you really have to be able to defend yourself and know your rights in that court.

I was taught all this in grade school and back then I never gave it a thought, because I was a child and didn’t understand the vast implications of a system like this.  The teacher at the time proudly taught us this with a smile, because in her eyes this is a great system.

I guess she didn’t see the lies in it.

(PS: If your a doctor reading this, and have ever gotten new parents to sign the registry document, or had your nurses get the parents do to it, this is exactly what you’ve been doing)

Vaccines vs No Vaccines

Let me start off by saying I’m for a healthy society.   I don’t want children to die or get sick, but the fact is I know how the immune system works and how are bodies work.  So the truth is, we need to get sick.

Our bodies are created with an immune system for a reason.  We live in a  world with disease, germs, virus’ and bacteria.   Life started on this planet due to bacteria.

We also know from science that these things can disappear for hundreds even millions of years and then come back in outbreaks.

Right there, mainly due to the mass hysteria brought on by overprotective parents in the United States and Canada, around the recent measles cases in both countries.   What they are calling an outbreak, I would call a few sick kids, by that is besides the point.

Let me talk about measles for a moment.

Measles isn’t that scary.  I have mom’s on my facebook lists who scream and shout that anti vaxxers are child abusers etc.   I find this behavior reactionary, and fear based.  When discussing the issue with them they claim to have “done their research” but when you question or discuss the issue you will find their research consists of getting five minutes worth of info from their doctor, memes from their mommy and me facebook group and an article written in a pop culture magazine.

Here is a tiny bit of history which will give you an idea of what measles was like back in history.

1800s:   During this era the chance of death was approximately 48% for people who contracted measles.
In those years they didn’t have sanitation infrastructure, they went to the bathroom in a pail and dumped it’s contents out onto the street.   You also wiped your buttocks with a rag or your hand.
They would bath at most once a month and at the very least once a year.
Hand-washing was rare, and food cross contamination was an every day occurrence as well as under cooked foods and unwashed vegetables.
People wore the same clothes for months at a time.  In wealthy house holds they would have 4 sets of clothing for each season and would change their clothes per season, not each day.

Due to all of the above, disease would be rampant and many would die.

Fast forward to the invention of sanitation sewer systems and we saw a decline in disease, and illness.  Modern water pipes brought in water into the homes, and allowed people to bathe more frequently, not every day but once a week or so.   Washing our vegetables became routine and washing clothes was done more often.

1960s:  This was the era when vaccines were introduced.   Measles was almost gone at this time.  Less than a percent of the people in the united states had measles less than a percent of a percent of a percent died from it.   We had daily bathes, wore clean clothes everyday, cooked our foods properly and had modern sanitation and sewage infrastructure in all the major cities, small towns.

Now:   We have very tiny outbreaks of measles, in pocket areas.  In all cases, in the past 10 years it was found that an adult who was vaccinated was the patient zero and caused the outbreaks.    Zero infant deaths in the past 10-15 years have happened due to measles.
us-measles
Most doctors don’t know what is in the measles vaccines.  They couldn’t tell you the individual ingredients, they don’t even read the insert the Pharma companies include in the box.   And the things that insert tells you, should be enough to make you pause and look deeper.  Most don’t.

The CDC has written documents, that say after a vaccine your child is very infectious and should not be around any other children for a period of time.  The Pharma companies put inserts for these vaccines have really strong warnings.   Here is the MMR2 vaccine insert (http://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars/m/mmr_ii/mmr_ii_pi.pdf)

This says right on the warning that anyone who is allergic to eggs, has any fever based illness,  Under the adverse reactions on page six, it gets interesting where it states you can get “Diabetes”   (  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diabetes_mellitus )

Some other “adverse effects are:”

Anaphylaxis – Severe allergic reaction which can cause death.  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaphylaxis)

Arthritis; arthralgia; myalgia – Severe Joint, and muscle pain.   Less so with children and as the age of the person increases so does the chances of acquiring it along with the pain levels increasing.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthralgia  and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myalgia

Encephalitis – Brain swelling which can cause seizures, febrile convulsions, afebrile
convulsions or seizures; ataxia; polyneuritis; polyneuropathy; ocular palsies; paresthesia

At this point you should be getting a picture of what dangers lie within the vaccine itself.

There is much more in there.  Read for yourself.  Use google to figure out some of the reactions and you will find what is listed as reactions are not reactions but illness and even death.  Some are lifetime illness’.  And that is right on the insert that comes with the measles vaccine.   That should scare anyone.  It does me.  And yet many parents would rather risk their child’s health on these “adverse reactions” than a 1-1000-3000 chance of death (which hasn’t happened in decades).

In other words, fear.   Fear of death,,  That looming word, brings images of a small coffin and no one wants that.  Instead they inject their baby with a toxin that can cause all sorts of “adverse effects” that will last a lifetime.   And then they scratch their heads and wonder what happened and blame un-vaccinated children or parents of said children.

Now I have to ask anyone out there, is it really worth is to risk a child health like this knowing this information?

Here is what it boils down to:

No Vaccine:  Child gets sick for a week or so, has rash and fever.   Recovers and has a lifetime of antibodies and in women can pass those down to her children for the first 15 months of their lives.

Vaccine:  Adverse side effects, chance of lifetime illness’, like diabetes, muscle issues, autoimmune issues etc, seizures.   For a period of maximum 10 years cloned antibodies that are not guaranteed to stop the disease and can be shed from the body and be highly contagious if the vaccine is a live virus vaccine.

To me the answer is clear.  Not to get or give the vaccine to anyone.

The other point I would like to touch on, is about freedom.  I believe if we are truly free then we have the freedom to say no to our government.  That should be a huge concern for everyone.    This is why we have the judicial system were we have a jury of our peers to decide to remove those freedoms if a crime has been committed.  Personal freedoms or individual freedoms for myself is untouchable.   A government does not decide what my rights are.   They can’t.  A right is inherent.  A privileged is given.  A right can only be violated.  A privileged can only be taken away.

Forcing a medical procedure against my will or consent is tantamount to assault, rape and an attack on myself or my family.  No one has the right to choose for me or my family.  None.  If you don’t have that choice then you are not free.   If your government, mandates that vaccines are mandatory, then I think everyone should take up arms and start a rebellion.   A vaccine for me is the same as trying to inject HIV directly into my body.   And I will never agree to that.     You can choose to get these vaccines, I will even defend that right, but don’t ever try to take away my right to choose.

Medical Offices Policies in Canada

I decided to write about my experience that is currently ongoing with my specialist.    My reason is the policies for cancellation of appointments, long wait times, bad medical advice or just plain making something up to get you out of the office.

A little back history:

All my life I’ve been pretty healthy, I had a knee injury in my 20s and had my tonsils out when I was 20.   Other than that, I was healthy.   I went for regular check ups with my doctor and that was that.    Then in 2009 things started to change.   I noticed my eye sight was getting bad and I was getting pain behind my left eye.   I went to the eye doctor who, informed me these were signs of a brain tumor and sent me to my family doctor to run a battery of tests.    After three months of searching for the cause, my doctor ran a simple blood test and found out that I have, Graves Disease.   Most likely it went un-diagnosed for over 25 years or so.   So, for the next year, I was sent to an endocrinologist for diagnoses and treatment.   She prescribed all sorts of medications to try to get  the thyroid under control (Hyperactive thyroid), and the side effects of those drugs sent me into an emotional roller coaster of hell.

After a few months of this, I went to my Endo, and asked when would I start getting to normal.  She told me it would take over two years to get the thyroid under control with drugs.  This to me was unacceptable.  I was newly married and didn’t feel it fair to my spouse or that my new marriage could handle that kind of strain.   So she suggested what they call RAI, which is a radiated pill and it kills the thyroid and you go on a hormone pill for the rest of your life.

Now that doesn’t sound bad on its face.  However, after doing my research and finding out that this pill is served to you by someone in a lead lined radiation suit, in a lead cup and that afterwards if you vomit, they have to call a hazmat team to clean up the mess.  Well, that made me uninterested in that treatment.    So I asked my endo what other options.   She said surgery.   I said no problem, and I underwent surgery and had my thyroid removed.

Here it is approximately 4 years later, and I’m on my second Endo and here is what recently happened:

With an Endocrinologists, they are considered specialists.   With these doctors, when they schedule your appointment they book them anywhere from 3 months to a year in advance.  And like most doctors in Ontario, Canada, they have a policy that if you don’t give 48 hours notice to cancel or change your appointment, you will be charged a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00).

I understand this policy and agree with it to a point.   After all there are exceptions to rules and one of those is a contagious illness.    I contracted pink eye the day of my previous appointment date last month.   I woke up with my eye swollen and oozing juices like a tap.  I didn’t want to infect anyone else, so I called my doctor’s office to inform them and reschedule.  Not cancel.   The receptionist was very apologetic and understood but insisted the doctor would charge me the cancellation fee anyway.  I didn’t like it but I agreed.  Since i was cancelling the appointment without 48 hours notice.   So I was rescheduled for yesterday.   (Feb 2nd, 2015).

Now, here is where it get’s interesting.   I live in Southern Ontario and we got hit with a snowstorm the night before.   30 cm of snow got dropped on us and the southern Ontario people seemed to think this was a huge thing.  (I grew up more north, so to me this is normal winter weather).

Schools, government offices, banks and many business’s closed for the day.    I didn’t get any call from my Doctor informing me my appointment was cancelled so I assumed it was still on.   Did I mention my husband had previously booked the day off so he could drive me to and from the appointment as well?

So off we went to the appointment.  We arrived at the medical building 20 minutes before my appointment time.  Paid for an hour and a half of parking and went in.  And when we got to the doctor’s office, it was locked.   No one came in.

This is where I have the issue.   We as patients are expected to call them when we cancel the appointments.  We are expected to give 48 hours notice as well otherwise they charge a fee.  Yet, the same courtesy is not applied to us as patients.   I’m a photographer by trade, and I consider my time just as valuable.  I know how to write a proper business letter, and how to create an invoice.   I thought about it and discussed it with my husband and decided to bill the doctor for my inconvenience.  After all, they didn’t give me 48 hours cancellation notice, and they didn’t call me to cancel at all.   As well, today I received a phone message advising me I had two choices, to call and reschedule or to find another Specialist on my own since mine is retiring in April.

I wrote up the letter today and below is the body (I took out names to protect privacy),

Dear Doctor Endo

You did not show up for the appointment which was scheduled for Monday February 2nd, 2015, at 2:00 pm.

Regretfully, I must charge a cancellation fee of $50.00 (Fifty Dollars CAD). plus a $6.00 (Six Dollar CAD) for parking, as well as an Administration fee of $20.00 (Twenty Dollars CAD).

Also, as per the phone message we received on Tuesday February 3rd, 2014, There will be an additional $100.00 (One Hundred Dollars CAD), finders fee to find another Endocrinologist due to your retirement.

However, if you wish to refer me to another Endocrinologist in the area, then that fee can be waived.

Kindly contact me if you wish to reschedule the missed appointment.

Now for my reasons.    First, they expect us patients to call them and to give them at least 48 hours to cancel an appointment.  If you call to reschedule, they consider that a cancellation and will bill me $50.00.

I have no issues with this, but the street goes both ways.  I did not receive a phone call informing me my appointment was cancelled, so as a business man I feel I can charge them back for the missed time.   After all time is money.  And in my case, I charge a fee of $100 for an hour portrait session, I had to pay for parking, and my husband had to miss a days pay to drive me.

On top of this, I only got this Endo last summer.   Less than a year and he is retiring and I have to go through the hassle of finding a new one myself, instead of him referring me to another Endo.

So, here is how it breaks down:

$50.00 Cancellation Fee

$6.00 Parking

$20.00 Admin Fee.

$100.00 Finders Fee (Waived if they refer me to a new Specialist).

Total $176.00

Doctors in Ontario have the ability to retire without giving any notice to their patients.  None.  My mother who has severe spinal arthritis had her specialist retire on her and they didn’t even bother to send her a letter.  She showed for her appointment and found a new doctor in that office that informed her the previous doctor had retired 3 months before.

It’s time we start billing back for our time on these bad billing practices and treatment by doctors in Canada.   If more Canadians started to bill back for Cancelled appointments, long wait times, then maybe, just maybe doctors would change their policies to reflect a fairer and compassionate practice.

The current billing policies create distrust, anger, and resentment.   Billing for small things like a note scribbled on a piece of paper for your employer costs $20.00 in some offices.  It’s getting out of hand and I am fighting back.

So I wrote up the letter and the invoice today and then after I called my Endo’s office, and as soon as the receptionist answered, she put me on hold.  Then a few minutes of waiting she came back and I informed her who it was, she happily offered to reschedule my appointment, or I had the choice of going to another Endocrinologist.

So, I proceeded to inform her that because the doctor was billing me for rescheduling my previous appointment, and that I had received no such call from them to cancel the one that they missed, that I would be sending them a bill for the cancellation of the appointment.  At first the receptionist thought I was joking, but as I listed my reasons, her tone became angry.  ( After all, how dare I, a mere patient bill for my time.)    I calmly explained that my time is just as important and as a courtesy at least, if my doctor cancels my appointment, for any reason I expect a phone call.   I didn’t receive one and told her that because I did not get that call, I assumed that the appointment was on.   I told her I even checked the newspaper for the cancellation as well since many business’s will post their closures due to weather there.

She became livid and started shouting, saying “what did you expect me to do, I was snowed in my home” etc.   My response was, that is not my problem what you do.  The doctor expects me to call him to cancel my appointment if I have to cancel, he didn’t do me the same courtesy and so I braved the weather and made it for my appointment.    I told her, that maybe should could pass on to him that he should call his patients as a courtesy if he cancels their appointments, and then stated I would be sending the bill out within the next few days.

(Many companies will try to come up with excuses that have nothing to do with their customer.  For example I ordered something for Christmas and when I ordered it, it was in stock and it didn’t ship.  After calling the company about the order they informed me that the warehouse was out of stock on the product.  This isn’t a problem for the customer, nor is it one that solves the problem, so I told them that was their problem, and not mine, and that I wanted the product.  And I was right.  The same goes with the doctors office.   I don’t care that they were snowed in.  That isn’t my problem, it’s theirs.  If I used that excuse they would still charge me the fee. )

I will post a follow up on the saga as it continues…
